The simulators are designed to conduct training sessions for building, maintaining, and improving the practical skills of mortar battery personnel in performing their functional duties during firing preparation, fire control, and execution of fire missions, as well as for coordinating officers of the command and observation post and firing platoons in complex environments. The simulators function as an interactive, real-time simulation system that uses software and multimedia assets to generate a 3D virtual battlespace measuring 15×15×5 km (L×W×H), incorporating a battery command and observation post, a fire direction center, and two mortar platoons.
